I saw Dr Lennox privately for Mandibular Dystonia. He recommended Botox in the masseter muscles and the pterygoid muscles but said he was unable to inject the pterygoid and would there for send a referral to UCLH neurological hospital in London. He injected the masseter muscles through the NHS at Great Western Hospital.
I’ve now waited over four months and he has still not succeeded in correctly sending the referral also he no longer runs the Dystonia clinic at GWH.
To say I’m disappointed is an understatement.
He’s been completely negligent.
For 4 months I’ve been sending e mails back and forth between his secretary and UCLH trying to get him to follow through. I’m now truly angry at Dr Lennox for his incompetence.
In his own words: 'There is nothing I cannot diagnose in 15 minutes.'
Listened for about five minutes and as soon as he heard the word 'headache' was ready with a dx of migraine.
Recommended two meds (one or the other) with a prediction that in six months it would all go away.
The first meds made me worse.
The second I'd been taking for over a year with nil effect.
Going to see a different professional now.
Didn’t listen to anything I tried to tell him.
Made diagnosis upfront without any testing - migraine.
Didn't want to hear that many months lasting headache came along with other symptoms after viral infection (Covid-19) and I developed other neurological symptoms, physical and also cognitive, he dismissed it completely, no investigation, no discussion of my symptoms or why i had been referred. Was indifferent to everything I said. He even said that covid does not cause headaches! Really?? Does he educates himself or he thinks he knows it all?
Was rude, kept interrupting me every time I tried to spoke.
I left angry, it was complete waste of my time and energy.
Didn’t help me at all - not even stupid painkiller for so called 'migraine'!
I have neurological problems up to date.
Dr Graham Lennox is the first neurologist I have seen, but after meeting with another, Dr Paul Lyons in Bath, this made me reflect on my experience here.
Graham was direct, but listened. I don’t believe I made myself clear as my symptoms are a bit of a mix. However, it was his diagnosis that rid me of my chronic migraine when we recommended I stop take Pregablin and switch to Amitriptyline. Within a week I awoke without a noticeable migraine.
I do question now whether my description of my symptoms today now that my migraines have improved may highlight the potential occipital neuralgia.
That aside, my first impressions of Graham have been good and not dissimilar to many other medical professionals I have met with while nursing my pain since a road traffic accident in 2015.
I saw Dr Lennox today in a migraine outpatients clinic in Abingdon. He put my mind at ease about the symptoms I had been having and I has a diagnosed and given treatment within 25 minutes. He was so professional and kind and understood how I felt! Highly recommended.
